Richard McBride

Founder & Managing Director

Richard is a highly experienced HR executive, chartered accountant and chartered tax adviser with a deep expertise in all aspects of global mobility, international employment tax and reward.

He has extensive practical knowledge of efficient tax and social security solutions within the context of an ever-changing environment with the practical insight, experience and knowledge of making significant savings through process improvement.

Richard has a wealth of experience over 25 years, across a variety of industries including oil & gas, engineering and manufacturing, with a sustained record of delivering results and cost savings through innovation in the management of cross-border moves.

Prior to founding Certino, Richard set up and led the global mobility function at Baker Hughes, delivering more than $250 million in employment tax cost savings over eight years (2008 – 2016).

Jennifer Stolle

Tax Director

Jennifer is an experienced HR professional with over 15 years global mobility related experience including international employment tax, assignee policy, process and technology. She brings a practical approach to implementing efficient tax and social security solutions, considering the ever-changing environment many organizations find themselves in. She has a proven track record in driving both cost and process efficiencies.

Prior to joining Certino, Jennifer was a key member of the global mobility function at Baker Hughes. She spent the majority of her tenure as Regional Employment Tax Lead and most recently was responsible for their international Assignee Programs managing policy, processes and technology (2007 – 2017).

Barrie Gilmour

Commercial Director

Barrie is a highly experienced business development and account management executive with over 15 years experience in the global mobility, learning & development and talent sectors. These including senior and executive roles with some of the largest global relocation management companies.

Prior to joining Certino, Barrie was a senior director at IMPACT Group, a global leadership development coaching company, where he was responsible for business growth in EMEA and APAC regions. With his industry and business background, it will be Barrie’s goal to expand Certino’s global business with our revolutionary shadow payroll solution.

Ada Yang

Client Service Director

Ada (FCCA, CTA, ATT) has over 17 years experience in tax advisory and tax technology in both the UK and overseas.

In the past seven years, she has specialised in the design, implementation and enhancement of technology and data enabled tax and compliance solutions. Ada frequently presents at internal and client events, working with HR, tax and finance professionals in establishing an efficient, cross-border compliance approach at both strategic and operational level.

In her previous roles with Deloitte and EY, she also managed workforce mobility programs for global organisations from an expatriate tax perspective, with a strong focus on process improvement and enhanced client experience.

Subbu Rama

Chief Technology Officer

Subbu is a builder, has over 15 years of experience in building and delivering advanced technologies and products across multiple industries, in both large enterprises as well as startup companies.

Most recently, Subbu was the founder of Bitfusion, a virtualization and AI infrastructure management company, which was successfully acquired by VMWare in 2019. Previously, he headed engineering and product at Dell, running special projects for the CIO, and was responsible for numerous technological innovations and transformations across on-premise and cloud. Prior to that, he held various engineering and leadership roles developing infrastructure, software tools and methodologies for microprocessors, SoCs, graphics and chipsets at Intel.

Subbu has a masters in computer engineering from University of Wisconsin Madison.

Tom Martin-Lockyer

Product Director

Tom is an experienced Product leader, bringing 8 years of hands-on product management experience to Certino.

Having started his career building industry-leading employee engagement technology for Reward Gateway, he has gone on to build, manage and advise product organisations across a variety of industries.

Passionate about communication, Tom takes a customer-centric approach to research, design and deliver products that delight.

Tom studied Biochemistry & Molecular Genetics at the University of Bristol.

Terry Hurley

Client Services

Terry has 25 years cross-functional experience in oil & gas, advertising, education and utilities sectors where he managed high performing teams and projects within information technology, operations, and human resources.

He has a well-regarded record of utilizing existing resources to design insightful solutions for complex business issues. He has a wide-ranging background in driving process improvements in a variety of areas including budget planning, procurement, corporate training, end-user support management, enterprise analytics, and policy compliance.

Prior to joining Certino, he worked at  Baker Hughes on employee time management and international rotator activity tracking implementations.

Karen McSharry

Tax Solutions

Karen is a very experienced, internationally-focused professional specialising in global mobility and expatriate tax.

Working collaboratively and globally to address many and often complex projects across a wide variety of topics and countries, Karen’s experience includes international assignment end-to-end management, global mobility transformation projects, process and improvement of policies/procedures, expatriate data management and controlling the compensation/payroll cycle. She has a proven ability to recognise, adapt and evolve opportunities for business in today’s fast moving and changing global mobility environment.

She has worked for 30 years in a big four accountancy environment, located in the UK and Europe. Before joining Certino, she was based in Switzerland with PwC for 10 years. In that role, she was responsible for the worldwide services for several large, multinational key account clients.

Sanjay Patel

Finance Director

Sanjay Patel is an experienced finance director, with over 29 years experience within retail, market services and technology. Sanjay was Finance & e-Commerce Director for six years at Smythson of Bond Street, a luxury leather goods and stationery multi-channel retailer.

Previously, Sanjay was the managing director of more2 Ltd, a leading multi-channel retail marketing agency, servicing 70 of the top UK retailers. Former roles included management of finance, buying & merchandising, creative, logistics, customer services and marketing departments with Innovations Group, Freemans plc and greenfingers.com.

Sanjay now runs a successful outsourced finance director business, providing services to SMEs on a part-time basis. Typically involved in fund raising, business planning & growth strategy, cash flow management to business exit. Most recently as CEO, Sanjay led TFI (an international live events agency) through a successful turnaround, leading to an MBO.

Caroline Lueder

General Counsel

Caroline has extensive commercial and company law experience, gained first at City law firm Simmons & Simmons, where she spent over 12 years. Prior to joining Certino, Caroline was VP Head of the commercial legal team at Colt Technology Services, a telecommunications company, where she oversaw all the commercial legal work across Europe, Asia and the US and developed and helped implement innovative ideas in the legal department.

Before this, Caroline was a senior outsourcing lawyer at Electronic Data Systems (subsequently acquired by Hewlett-Packard).

Robert Norum


Robert has worked in media, marketing and technology for over 30 years. He spent several years in the publishing sector with IDG Communications before moving agency-side with Banner Corporation, part of Y&R and then WPP, where he worked on marketing some of the world’s largest technology companies.

Since 2003, Robert has worked as a marketing consultant on a wide range of projects from start-ups to multi-nationals – as an interim marketing director and working in partnership with a number of consultancies and agencies. As well as heading up marketing for Certino, Robert is ABM Practice Lead at McDonald Butler Associates, and a consultant/trainer for B2B marketing and a number of technology companies.

Natalie Guerin


Natalie has been providing personal and executive assistant support to companies for over 25 years. Working in the financial services industry, as a PA to royalty and for a multinational alcoholic beverages company.

In 2006, Natalie set up as a virtual assistant and has worked on complex, expatriate projects for a leading US investment bank and a top tier oilfield service company – applying the standards of excellence, accuracy and confidentiality demanded by previous employers to the work she carries out today.

Natalie is now providing administrative support for the Certino management team.
